Brachioplasty (Arm Lift)
Brachioplasty, or an “arm lift”, is a procedure that primarily focuses on the removal of excess skin of the upper arms. Genetics, diet, age, and/or major weight loss can all play contributing roles in the development of “sagging” upper arms. Because this area doesn’t effectively respond to exercise, patients come to us to inquire about surgical options. Depending on the agreed surgical plan, the incisions will either be placed on the inside of the arm or on the back of the arm. The excess skin is then trimmed and the underlying supportive tissue is reshaped with internal sutures. Sutures are used to close the incision after the remaining skin is smoothed over the new arm contour, and then they’re removed about two weeks later. We love that we can help our patients feel comfortable in their own skin, and with summer right around the corner, what’s stopping you from making the call, too?
